Austerity

Now that congress is on austerity drive, I feel so happy and relived that all my problems will be solved. Madame G is traveling economy (with her 3 SUV s, which by the way our media conveniently forgot to mention). And so are most of ministers and parliamentarians flying economy. Even Baba G is going to join this drive by taking a train ride. Whew thanks! that was so helpful in solving food crisis and rising prices.
Some Congressmen even describe Madam G's economy travel to be a more important sacrifice then Gandhiji's giving up of clothes and wearing only loin made up of khadi for rest of his life... ya right, I hope I don’t have to start calling Madam G, Mahatma G.
Who cares about real issues like dal reaching 90 rs kg or sugar price sky rocketing or for that matter most of basic food articles going out of common man's reach. Drought in major parts of country and floods in some other parts. Does it matter if farmers in some part of country have to resort to sell their wives to survive. And what's govt doing? ... Austerity, Tokenism, Moral high ground... How about some real action.
Most of media are going head over heels in reporting this austerity drive. And it may even continue till upcoming state elections are over. I hope watchdog of democracy starts to watch over real issues.
But the real question is "Can people of this country be repeatedly fooled or will they see thru this Natak".
